  1. Steak…Grrrr

Yesterday I was in Bristol shooting in a beautiful location house with the amazing recipe writer and food stylist Genevieve Taylor. Genevieve has written many cookery books and I literally had to tear myself away from reading them to crack on with our shoot. They will definitely be going on my ‘to buy’ list.  Her Pies book will be coming out in a fortnight or so and I couldn’t recommend it enough – lots of vegetarian recipes too which leads me onto one of our shots of steak. Cooked rare and accompanied by lightly fried and buttered mushrooms. It might be a bit too early to think about a big meal but it might give you some ideas for lunchtime. If you don’t fancy meat then we shot some beautiful langoustines too, which look like crazy alien sea creatures if you look at them too long.

  2. My latest work

Today we were shooting posh fish and chips and a marinated sliced duck breast salad with ginger and chilli vinaigrette.  As a vegetarian I only got to sample the chips but they were as yummy as they look.

  3. Beautiful Baby Beetroot

I’m loving my new shot (if I’m allowed to say that about my own work).  The beautiful silver tray was a great find in Muswell Hill Oxfam and the dulled metal really sets of the beautiful vibrancy of the baby beetroot.  Thanks to our food stylist Marta for sourcing and making the beetroot look so appetising.

  4. Mmm…healthy japanese snacks

These seaweed peanut crackers look so pretty and they taste pretty good too.  I’m not sure if they are actually a healthy snack but they certainly catch your eye.

  5. …back in the studio

After being on location for most of last week it was a nice change to be back in the studio.  Here  are a couple of product shots commissioned by Weetons of their delicious chutneys and salad dressings.  My website has some more as well as a couple of shots from the location part of the shoot.  www.debbylewisharrison.com.

  6. Meanwhile @ the farm…

I had the best Friday ever.  I have a fondness of cows and found myself in an impromptu shoot at Beckwith Farm.  Michelle let me loose in the field with her pedigree Hereford herd including a huge bull called Diamond.  I was amazed that Michelle could name them all and they were a very friendly bunch.  Here’s one of the shots.  Many thanks to Michelle  @ http://www.beckwithfarm.com.

  7. Weetons Harrogate

I don’t normally shoot things that talk and move but last week I had a great time photographing the very lovely people at Weetons, a fabulous deli, shop & cafe in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.  While Anna and I were treated to cakes, biscuits & endless coffee we did also get some great shots of the shop and staff.  Many thanks to Anna Cowen for assisting and styling and to everyone at Weetons for making us feel so welcome, it made the job lots of fun.

  8. Pretty Boxes

This pretty little box contained the most delicious smelling soap, I was very upset to give it back!
